New in 2023, the Foundation has has aligned our funding priorities with the sustainability model posted on our website which was adapted from the work of Dr. Bob Pavlik (2007).
We believe that sustainability, defined by the Brundtland Report (1987) as “Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” represents how we are all connected and thus, how to nurture and cultivate sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by the world today so that they may be resolved for future generations. We believe, without a doubt, that the answers to many of our challenges reside in the hearts and minds of young people.
The framework is a concrete way to ensure all funded projects demonstrate a connection to sustainability and the way in the form of one or more of the five E’s: Ecology, Economy, Education, Enlightenment and Equity.
