Grant Process

We invite young people (age 30 and under) to apply for grants up to $5,000 USD to fund your game-changing, socially innovative projects that address community needs.  New in 2023, projects must align with at least one area of the Sustainability Framework.  Special emphasis will continue to be placed on projects that work to address mental health, eradicate racial injustice and/or address community needs resulting from Covid-19.

New in 2024!

Rolling grant cycle.  Grants will be reviewed as they are submitted.

Important Information:

  • We accept proposals on a quarterly basis, funding grants four times per calendar year.
  • To be eligible for funding, projects must be affiliated with a United States-based non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a current federal tax ID number or have an organization of the same status willing to serve as the project’s fiscal sponsor.  this means that an organization is willing to accept the money on your behalf and siperse funds to your project as needed based on the project’s budget.  Your fiscal sponsor will be asked to sign a grant agreement.
  • If the project is being implemented abroad on behalf of a non-profit based in the United States, it falls in the category above.
  • If your organization is based abroad, please note that we fund international projects through existing partnerships.  Proposals from abroad are accepted by invitation based on the recommendations of our partners.  Unsolicited proposals from organizations outside of this scope will not be reviewed for funding, but such groups are encouraged to visit candid.org to locate other foundations whose funding priorities may align with their work.
